The music for the game ended up being a huge success and was so popular that Mick Gordon was flown out to Los Angeles to perform live at the Game Awards 2016. However, the original decision to avoid metal paid off by giving us the unique soundtrack of Doom. After trying to work the soundtrack with mostly synthesisers, Gordon pushed to add in some metal elements and the rest is history. When Gordon originally met with the developers at id Software, one of the preconditions of the project was, no metal music.

The story in the reboot is much more expansive and detailed. You must slay the demons that have entered our dimension and stop them from reaching Earth. You must fight your way through the UAC facilities across Mars, and even venture into the Hell dimension.
